Kevin Cavanaugh, CFA
CHIEF investment OFFICER
Kevin Cavanaugh founded Corrib Capital and serves as the firm’s CEO and CIO. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the fund’s investment portfolio. Prior to Corrib, Kevin served as a Portfolio Manager at Waterstone Capital Management, where he was responsible for managing the firm’s high yield and distressed investments. In 2012, Kevin launched the Waterstone Quarry Fund, an event-driven credit fund that was the predecessor to the Corrib Master Fund. Prior to joining Waterstone, Kevin served as Managing Director of RBS Greenwich Capital Markets, Inc. where he was co-manager of a multi-billion dollar proprietary credit and equity hedge fund. He has 17 years of investment experience, including four years at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., where he invested the firm’s capital in distressed opportunities, and prior to that was an investment banker in the commodities group. Kevin has experience trading various instruments including corporate bonds, bank debt, credit default swaps, indexed products and equities. Kevin Cavanaugh earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Marquette University.
Kevin BeckeR, CFA
Kevin Becker is responsible for analytics supporting the fund’s investments. Prior to joining Corrib, Kevin was a senior investment analyst at Waterstone Capital Management. In that role, he worked with Kevin Cavanaugh and Frank LaRosa on the Waterstone Quarry Fund and its predecessor allocations. Kevin is a generalist with event-driven, stressed and distressed investing expertise. Kevin has over 15 years of experience, focusing on stressed and distressed company situations. Kevin was an analyst at high yield and distressed hedge funds with experience analyzing and trading various instruments including corporate bonds, bank debt, credit default swaps, preferred stock and common stock. He began his career as a credit analyst in the debt restructuring and workout group at Bank of America’s Global Corporate Investment Bank. Kevin Becker earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a major in Accounting at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
FRANK LAROSA, J.D., CFA
Frank LaRosa is responsible for analytics supporting the fund’s investments. Prior to joining Corrib, he was a senior investment analyst at Waterstone Capital Management. In that role, he worked with Kevin Cavanaugh and Kevin Becker on the Waterstone Quarry Fund and its predecessor allocations. Frank is a generalist with event-driven and distressed investing expertise. Prior to joining Waterstone, Frank worked approximately ten years in various capacities on stressed and distressed company situations. He was an investment analyst at hedge funds Scottwood Capital Management and Quattro Global Capital. He began his career as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Inc. in the industrials group and subsequently did workout investment banking at PricewaterhouseCoopers Securities. Frank has experience analyzing and trading various instruments including corporate bonds, bank debt, credit default swaps, index products and bankruptcy claims. Frank LaRosa earned a Juris Doctor (JD) with Honor from the University of Chicago, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with Honors and the Highest Distinction from the University of Michigan.
HEAD OF CAPITAL FORMATION, INVESTMENT ANALYST
Jason Freund leads Corrib Capital’s capital formation effort, as well as serves as the lead analyst for bank sector investments. Prior to Corrib, Jason was a Managing Director at Imperial Capital in an institutional sales capacity where he founded and managed the firm’s Chicago office. Prior to Imperial, Jason managed the Chicago office and Bank Advisory Group of Cohen & Company where he was active in the trust preferred collateralized debt obligation markets. Jason began his career in investment banking focusing on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions at Robert W. Baird and Keefe, Bruyette & Woods. In his 17 year career on the sell-side, Jason has focused on investment grade, high yield & distressed debt, preferred stock & CDO securities. Jason graduated from Marquette University with a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance and Marketing.
Kurt Peterson, cpa
Chief Financial Officer, Chief Compliance Officer
Kurt Peterson serves as the firm’s CFO and CCO. He is responsible for overseeing the back office and compliance functions within the firm, as well as running the day-to-day operations of the advisor. Most recently, Kurt acted as Chief Financial Officer of Waterstone Capital Management L.P., which he joined in 2003. While at Waterstone, Kurt had multiple roles and responsibilities within the organization, including tax, operations, accounting, regulatory compliance, due diligence and investor relations. Prior to joining Waterstone, Kurt worked in the Financial Services Audit practice for Ernst & Young LLP. He has 14 years of investment-related experience. Kurt earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a Certified Public Accountant.

Tarun Kapoor leads the technology development efforts at Corrib Capital, including managing the end-to-end technology solution for Corrib’s front and back office. His areas of expertise include trade life cycle management, allocation optimization, pricing, analytics, risk management and regulatory reporting. Prior to joining Corrib, Tarun was the development manager at Waterstone Capital Management where he led a team of developers that created and maintained an enterprise solution for trading, risk management, operations, accounting and marketing. Tarun has 12 years of software development experience. Tarun earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from University of Minnesota and a Master of Business Administration from University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
